HOUSING WORKSHOPS AND EDUCATIONAL COURSES NALHFA ANNOUNCES CHDO TRAINING Under HOME Technical Assistance funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the National Association of Local Housing Finance Agencies (NALHFA), the National Community Development Association (NCDA), and the National Association for County Community and Economic Development (NACCED) will deliver eight workshops on “Becoming a High-Performing CHDO” in 2008. The training is based on the CHDO Survivor Kit publication, developed by Monte Franke of Franke Consulting Group on behalf of NALHFA, NCDA, and NACCED. (You may review the guide at on the NALHFA web site by clicking here) Participants will learn what it takes to become a successful CHDO developer of affordable housing, including the importance of organizational structure and capacity, project selection and implementation, and understanding the HOME program rules and working successfully with your participating jurisdictions. Monte Franke will deliver the training. The free, one-day workshop is open to staff and board members of Community Housing Development Organizations (CHDOs) and organizations interested in becoming a CHDO.
