Position Summary:

The position of Director, Single Family Housing, provides direction and leadership for the single family lending functions of the Authority, providing support and management to managers and their teams for Servicing, Sales, Underwriting, Loan Operations and Capital Markets, Quality Assurance and Default.  As part of the Authority’s Senior Leadership team, the Director Single Family participates in cross-functional, organizational and strategic planning activities and decision-making.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Directs and leads single family professionals responsible for origination processes, (including underwriting) and servicing (including default management) of WHEDA’s single family loan portfolio; analyzes emerging trends and identifies key market indicators; oversees and periodically evaluates products and lending strategy for relevance and effectiveness.
  • Directs and leads single family professionals responsible for developing, building, and managing relationships with WHEDA’s lending partners. This includes coordinating and delivery of training to these partners as well as responding to inquiries and resolving issues. 
  • Directs and leads single family professionals who are responsible to work, in conjunction with Finance to establish pricing, selling and bond strategies, as well as performing loan processing and post-closing functions. Ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations and investor requirements.
  • Directs and leads quality assurance professionals responsible for ensuring  compliance with applicable laws, federal, state, and local laws, regulations, codes, standards, contracts, and WHEDA program requirements, including interpretation and impacts of new or changing regulations; analyzing emerging trends to ensure high quality loan portfolio through the use of loan level audits; general oversight to ensure oversight with investor requirements for servicing the single family portfolio.
  • Performs  supervisory duties, including hiring, training and coaching, performance evaluations, and corrective action. Ensures that employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment.

Education Requirments:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Accounting, or a closely related field AND 10 years of significant successful experience in a leadership role with supervisory responsibility and demonstrated career progression in portfolio management, asset management, or lending services, OR equivalent combination of education and experience
