Webinar - Tax Reform: The Impact on the Affordable Housing Community

The first year of the Trump Administration has been a dynamic and unpredictable journey, full of impactful legislative proposals. Congress closed out 2017 by passing sweeping tax reform legislation, which will mean some big changes for the affordable housing industry. Plenty of action is in store for 2018 as well, with more legislative initiatives coming from the Administration and an important mid-term election being held in November.

Join Peter Lawrence, Director of Public Policy & Government Relations for Novogradac & Company, Elizabeth Strojan, Director of Government Affairs for the New York City Housing Development Corporation and Chair of NALHFA’s Legislative Affairs Committee, and Heather Voorman, Policy Director for the National Association of Local Housing Finance Agencies. To read speaker bio's, click here

This webinar will include:

  • A look into the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 and the impacts this legislation will have on affordable housing.
  • An overview of the efforts that went into saving the tax exemption on private activity bonds and the low-income housing tax credit programs, and the legislative initiatives that need to be addressed in 2018.
  • An outlook on the legislative initiatives coming in 2018 and how mid-term elections will affect Congressional activity.
